Tired. Sleep. Rest. Never before had she witnessed herself being so ...thin. The only dominating features that remained of her shape was her toned sleak legs and perky breasts that hinted themselves beneathe the plain white haulter top she wore with a pair of loose baggy cotton draw string pants. They were also white.  So when a trio of sweaty unshaven mud spattered guards shuffle up to her and seize her by the arms, one could only imagine her expression.  Pissed.

"What in the hell?! Have you lost your minds?! I just got back!"
One of the guards murmur something about Lord Yoku wanting to see her immediately in the audience of the Council. Oh shit...she thinks letting her mocha orbs dart about at the passing villagers that were gawking at the three men as they whisked her down the main dirt road towards the towns.
"You're embarrassing me! Unhand me and let me walk. I have two legs and two feet like the rest of you!"she shouts before all three men pause, waver in their resolve then ease off her arms. Still they remained a strong triangular hold around her as they walked with her in unison. They reminded her of human prison bars to a cell.
____________________________________________________________
The Trial
Once inside the Meeting Hall, Carme's mood only got worse. For not only were the six council leaders of the Village there but so was her brother, Zayne who leaned snuggly in a corner with his arms crossed and his face expressionless. She was not surprised.
"Sit Carme. We're all willing to talk this through in a civil manner and be done with it. Your punishment will be light and supervised to say the least but we are all in the end willing to look past your disgrace."

She stood there breathing heavily, eye balling the group of grey haired men as if they had grown third eyes on their foreheads and slinging out a slew of curses under her breath. Zayne could hear them for he stood cloestest to her. He had superhuman hearing as well. And he couldn't help the smile that followed.

She had been framed. Quit nicely. So...perfectly it made her sick to breathe.

A small village in the middle of nowhere just trying to get by, and be avoided by the rest of the world around them. One might think that Lyo was the last thing that anyone would expect in such a quaint setting. Glowing trees, a wonderful river cutting through the countryside, a nice harmonic balance between mortal life and a wild place. Yet here he indeed was. Well partially. For the sake of the land that he was in, he had lost his overly recognizable leather doublet, and mythril armor pieces. Soft-soled jackboots replaced by the ever strange yet slightly comfortable Tabi-boots. And his soft linen swordsman pants swapped out for Hakama pants.

Even his weapons were all temporarily hidden. They were still on his person, just tucked neatly away in one of his pouches of holding. And that was tucked inside of his flowing vest and kept well out of view of these simpleton peasants. Over his Elvish face he wore a simple but powerful illusionary one that was created by equal parts Magic, and Psionics. It didn’t exactly make him look like any one particular person, it just made people see him as something not worth noticing.

In the crowd outside of the trial he was mostly taken as a small boy,, and occasionally as a faceless guard. Just one more being in the crowd. Easily ignored, and quickly dismissed as a background person not worthy of being remembered. But that indeed was the goal of the power being used. As the crowd moved partially inside the meeting house he followed and stood near a wall, but in a place with a direct line of sight over Carme, and his mark… He did not understand WHY his contract had specified that this girl needed to be framed and brought to trial for him to assassinate his mark. But this wasn’t the first time a pretty girl was going to go through hell because of him… and it was likely to be FAR from the last.

For a thief of Lyo’s caliber setting her up was easier then figuring out how the frak to get these blasted pants on. a little but of trickery, and sleight of hand got him the items he needed. And then a few implanted thoughts to go with the planted evidence made even the most air tight alibis she would use hard to fight the eyewitness accounts. But Lyo wasn’t cruel, after he had completed his contracts he would come back and free her before a gallows could be used… Well unless this was the type of village that hung you for your crimes on the same day….

There was a lot of murmuring and low key background conversation churning just below earshot. They spoke about her naturally but she couldn't make out exactly what they were saying unless she went into her Setsui ultra-sensitive concentration mode which would require tunning out the entire world in order to zoom in on the distinct sounds and voices taking place within that very room.

She didn't bother with formailities and strode to the center of the room to stand amid the seated semi circle of council members. It was a bold move and made all the more of a statement as she made sure to keep her back turned to one of the council members in particular...Evelice. This pretty young face didn't belong in the sea of wisened sagging faces but yet she sat. Evelice was the youngest and first female ever to be elected into a council seat position. She was also the High Priestess of Nesta.

Carme disliked her.

"Well if its a show you wanted, then here it is.  I'm all ears gentlemen.  What are my crimes and where is the evidence?"

"You are the only GM from Nesta in the league, are you not?"--one of the men spoke up.
And it was true...she was the only in Nesta to be appointed a member of the Global Messenger's League. Oh wow, so she was quick on her feet and accurate when it came to listening and repeating messages that were given to her in verbatim. She rolled her eyes feeling beyond pissed off at this point.
"There have been complaints from our various neighbors that they have been receiving erroneous messages from the GM of Nesta. Wittnesses are attesting to descriptions that match your appearance...and...a mother's child had grown very ill as a result of one of the errors in one of the messages she received. It was meant as secreted ingredients to heal cuts and wounds but resulted in sending her child into a three day coma. The message when we examined it, was a formula for a concentrated sedative, lethal to young ones if rubbed, inhaled or digested into the bloodstream."

"Lord Yoku...?"she questions softly letting those melted cocoa hues move to lock on the Village Leader's face. Who would do this? Impersonate her and go about delivering false messages?

Lyo could sense the emotions of nearly everyone in the room, and by closing his eyes focus on them better. There was anger, shock, contempt, rage and sorrow. Some couldn’t believe that she would dare showing back up so blasé after nearly killing a child, others even with the evidence thought her innocent still. and some where just hoping to see her brought own a peg or two…. And there was one weird guy in the back that was lost in perverse fantasy. The only one he was having problems reading was Carme, but she wasn’t his target anyways.

As the old man began speaking Lyo opened his eyes again and waited.  concealed in his sleeve was the poisoned knife he was going to use. It was a very unique blade as in the center of its tip lived an almost impossibly thin glass tube, and in it was the deadly toxin. The force of impact form hitting even flesh would be enough to shatter the glass, and if it hit something harder then the toxin would coat the blade and still had a very high chance of entering the blood stream.

Ah, the small boy Lyo had nearly killed…. The case was not as deadly as it had been lead to believe, once the child had been given the poison Lyo retuned and gave him an antidote, not enough to cure all the symptoms. But enough to make it slightly less than deadly. It wasn’t that Lyo cared if the kid died. It just wasn’t needed for this. Oh, the fear around him mixed with the anger so wonderfully. But he wasn’t going to get distracted. No, he had to let this trial move a bit more forward before he was supposed to act.

"The evidence speaks for itself Carme. What is it that you plead?"came Lord Yoku's measured answer in tones as sure as the rising and setting of the sun.  Her asian features shift into a defined unreadable expression that tugged at soft lips and narrowed her already peircing gaze.  Zayne.  Their eyes locked and the temperature in the chambers dropped a few solid degrees.  Too much history existed between the two siblings for anyone to dare acknowledge this broken silence with a hasty interruption, save of course the village leader Lord Yoku himself.

"By the gods, defend yourself, child! What do you plead?!" And the look he gave her startled her into a reply as balled fists remained painfully cramped at her sides. "Not guilty, of course.  For the messages that you speak of and the one specified of the young boy falling ill were all most likely written messages of which I am not permitted to open and give witness to myself by the strict codes of the GM and the binding laws of Nesta that be.  So I would have had no way of knowing just what ingredients were given, written or instructed as medicine for the child to take.  I simply deliver the damned paper the messages are on and go on with my god-damn day!"--she snarled.

Silence.  It sat heavy and sweaty in the air of the crowded chamber hall.  Finally someone spoke.  The words sending an almost electrical jolt through her being. "The council must further decifer the evidence, review the case and decide a verdict for your crimes. Arrest her until further notice,"droned the voice.  A random nobody's voice.  It was faceless but its meaning was ever sharp.

Carme was going to jail.

"You can't be serious!"

So close, so very close. Everything was indeed going as was predicted, it was as if the man that hired him was in the very room guiding the events as he saw fit, and making every person believe only what he wanted them to. Truthfully Lyo had wondered how his employer had set all this up, but now hew was figuring it out far clearer then than man that hired him likely wanted... It was amusing to see this charade going on, and it was better because Lyo knew the truth. Carme wasn't defending herself because she didn't want trouble, she really was innocent of all charges, so her reactions were completely genuine each time guilt was pointed her way.

“Oh they are” he telepathically sent the thought to Carme, though he intentionally made it harder to track back to him by using a puppet to send the thoughts from.. just a patsy in the side of the room if she could track his powers. “They are going to try you, indite you, and see you hung.. little can save you know girl. You'd better fight, better resist.. better escape else the gallows shall have you before the week is up.....”

Lyo was smiling but still concealed form easy view under his illusions and powers. He knew he was safe. All he had to do was trick Carme in to acting as he needed so that he could assassinate his target. And of course make her seem to be at fault for that too. It was a rather evil little plan, but once it was over he might help the girl escape. After all she was kinda of pretty, and if he could make her beholden to him it just made all the evil that much sweeter.

But for now he was just waiting, making plots, getting ready. The dagger was still hidden in his hand, and his target Lord Yoku was none the wiser of his imminent death. This was as perfect as it ever could be. A pair of guards moved towards Carmen, and if she wasn't going to resist he was going to make it look like she did. After all his plan hinged on that

Something was horribly wrong with this scene and it began to fester in her mind to no end. First, she noted, was the frail urgency in Lord Yoku's voice as he'd barked at her to plead her case.  The urgency did not belong for it was hyped and desperate sounding...not the tones of a man greatly displeased or angered by her actions but the sound of a man struggling to find some sort of impass or reason to believe otherwise in her.

'What is it that you're trying to tell me, Lord Yoku?'--she thought in mental despair before she'd heard the voice. It was a small voice inside her head that managed to sound pleasantly forboding. The pleasantly being that the owner of said telepathic voice seemed to hold vocals as smooth and laxing as that of a professional hypnotist. It was enough to lull her eyelids into a light droop.

'Oh, really? This is it? The point of my untimely demise?'she mentally shot back out into the room targetted at no one in particular for the source of the mental message proved pracitcally untraceable...practically however not entirely. If only she could focus on that of the aura's of every living breathing thing in the room and isolate that of the foreigner's signature energy...
Five...six...seven...seconds. The time was ticking away in slow" motion before the faintest of movements flickered across Carme's peripheral vision to hint at the beginnings of a physical pursuit to apprehend her. She'd been charged and sentenced to confinement so what more was stopping the guards from seizing her. Something was horribly grossly wrong with this picture, she thought aware of her accelerated heartbeat, dialating pupils and pounding headache working itself into a migrane at the back of her neck. She was being framed...the voice clearly attested to the ill intent behind the situation with its inflection and menacing proclaimations of doom.

Thus Carme did the next best thing she could do in such a restricting situation where the slightest move in the wrong direction could cause an uproar...She faked a faint and fell limp in the closest guards arms. "Take her to the infirmary!"--shreiked an older lady's voice. "Bind her wrists and place her in sick bay.""No, put her in jail where she belongs. Some food n water ought to wake her up." "What's the matter with you people?! Its against Nesta law to legally confine a citizen to a jail cell when they are ill."--boomed a teen's male voice in the back.

Thing could be going better they could be going worse, all in all this was likely the best moment he was going to have and he knew it. Sadly in stead of picking a fight Carme feigned unconsciousness. To bad. But then again he had pinned enough on her, he didn't need the murder to seem to be her fault as well, all he needed was the crowd gathered and  not paying him any attention. Which was this exact second.

“Maybe it isn't yours I want?” he said telepathically to her, this time his voice was filled with excitement, though it was faked. He got no joy any more out of murder, he had not enjoyed it for a very long time. Sadly it was what he was good at and thus how he turned a coin in times of need. And by being in a different world than most of his possessions and fortunes there was indeed a need for  monetary gains again.

With his one little statement he triggered his powers and the dagger flew free of his grip. It would shot around at ankle level through the crowds dodging with expert precision that made it seem to be alive. Once it passed Carme's ability to deflect it it rose up and altered its course so that any one who saw it would think it had come directly from her hands. A moment later Lord Yoku's side would be pierced by the dagger and the toxins injected into his blood stream. In a matter of minutes the old man would be dead, and Lyo's contract fulfilled completely.

He couldn't help but feel a tinge of guilt at what all he had done, and what all he had set in motion at this exact second. But at the same second he didn't care. Life always sorted it self out in the end, and she, and this entire village was no longer his concern. He just had to sit by and watch this final crescendo play through and then he would vanish into the crowd and depart...

It was all a messy nightmarish blur after the first sharp gasp and peircing screams ripped through the air. Seconds after the smell of warm blood permeated the room, Carme knew she was too late. She had failed and in the worst way possible.  The crowd merged towards the door as a body was lifted and wheeled out of the council chambers in a whirl wind of shouts and barked orders.  She'd known without looking up, without opening her eyes, without moving an inch of her muscles, ...that he was dead. How had she known, one would wonder?  It was tragically simple.

My daughter.

It was the last mental message he'd managed to send her moments before he breathed his last.

The Assassine
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Who did it? Why? Will they strike again? These are just a few of the questions that rippled through her mind on repeate for the past 48hrs.  She sat on the floor hugging her knees to her chest with her eyes closed and head bowed. But instead of reciting some serene prayer for mercy and deliverance, she was silently mouthing every deragatory swear word in the english and japanese language.  Anger was just one of the emotions that racked her body. It was all she knew at this point. All she could see...

"I'm impressed.  I'm not sure how you did it but...you pulled it off flawlessly,"he was saying.  Her evil older brother stood leaning against the opposite wall she sat against with one foot resting against it while his other leg remained straight. He held a cigarette within the V of his fingers and now brought it to his lips inhaling its raptuous smoke. Another slow death.

She ignored him as she had been for the past 3 days.

"You know...you really should eat something Carmen. You're looking retched these days.  Starvation doesn't suit you and its fucking your complexion all up."---He spoke as if he owned her.  As if she were apart of his personal collection of china dolls that someone had dirtied or chipped or in more modern perspective...he spoke as though he were her boss and she was his model. It had always been twisted between them. But never this---Never this.  He straightened from the wall resting both feet on the floor and strolled towards her form.  They were alone as he had been sure to dismiss the guards upon visiting. "I need you well for your trial and sentencing," he growled when she didn't answer and yanked her up by her forearm only to slam her against the wall facing him. "Answer me!"he yelled into her ear.

"You're pathetic,"she replied.

"Follow the messenger it said..."

This was turning out to be some kind of game, I wasn't in the mood to be playing games when my experiments are far more important. Then one would ask, why am I playing the game now? I have a sharp reply for them but in truth I do enjoy getting involved in people's quarrels, it always leads to me benefiting in some way.

"As always there is a crowd.."

I had taken it upon myself to stay in Nesta Village for a while and do research. Obviously I came out here following the messenger, so far I've found out that this is home and that she's in trouble. Sounds like a job to earn some cool points. But first off before anything, I need to listen in on what's going on and this crowd I'm approaching will give me that leverage.

Feels like hours had passed but I got the message, she was being deported to Mexico, no wait that was a movie I was watching. This woman, Carme Nesta, is being imprisoned for a crime I didn't see her commit. It's funny how the name Nesta is in the name of the village to, she must be royalty...but why is she being treated like dirt. OH yeah....the crime.

I need to get it together, I've had one too many drifts out of reality this past week. First thing I need to do...is ignore my stomach and find this place she's going to be held captive...

-Stomach growls-

Okay....food first, saving the woman second.

<Hours Pass>

Oh man, what a great meal with some Dragon wine to go alongside it, nice. They treated me like a king or maybe I'm just over exaggerating the flirtatious looks I've been given, or thought I was given. Nah nah nah, I was getting them, right?...how long have I been on the road?

".................."

Nevermind..

The big important thing of the day is how full I feel.....of these god damn rumors about what this Carme has done. Is that all these people talk about? Isn't there an oil spill going on someplace? What about the sinkhole? They don't know about that do they!? Damn distractions from potential disasters! These people will never learn! And didn't I already tell this old hag to stop gossiping to me about "The story on page one!?" and for the sake of the universe...STOP TRYING TO GIVE ME HARD CANDY! You're already giving me a hard time! I really wish I could say this to her.

As soon as the old lady leaves here comes the "elven princess" with her magical unicorn waiting outside. She needs to stop flirting with me, pointy ears is not my thing, nor is a woman riding a unicorn hot in any manner. I'm sick of her already and she's only said two words to me, who sounds like that? All whiny and stuff, ugh! I feel like I'm being sexually harassed in here, I have to leave.

But OH! Noooo! more people wanna gather around to see the elven princess and inform her on how Nesta village is going. Why can't they talk about what's on television? Or me? this is such bullshit. I'm sexy, but OH! you gotta be spoon fed to get attention in this town, fucking gold diggers. It's like hearing a story recap over and over again from different voices. It's burnt into my mind, I have to at least save Carme or kill her to change the subject of conversation! I'm surely not in it for the cool points anymore.

"Don't worry citizens I shall get to the bottom of this mystery!!"

Okay yeah I am.

What in the hell was I thinking? Saying that. But hey the elven princess was paying full attention to me and from this angle, she doesn't look half bad. Damn....what the hell is happening to me? The mission the Mission! Hello! Brain are you in there!? This is no time to let loose!

Okay..I'm cool....the elven princess just gave me her...signature!!? WTfuck is this shit? Does she not have a phone? Shit! Get this shit out of here I'm going to save Carme Nesta!

<Moments Later>

Alright *hic*, here we are...just the place I was looking for...but how am I supposed to...get inside..? *hic*

He withdrew his arm back to backhand her across the face but when he swung down hard, his hand made contact with the stone wall she'd been pressed against.  She'd moved in a blurry streak of motion to the opposite end of the room within seconds.  Granted, she was very weak;the weakest she'd ever let herself become in all her years of life. But the rage that boiled within her, fueled an unexpected energy.  Something darker than what she was used to feeding off of for strength and power...and it scared her shitless.  But she'd have to use some of this new found darker energy if she was going to survive Zayne's advances.  It was just him, her, and four concrete solid walls.

"You've won, you sick fuck! You're dreams have come true.  So go and rejoice in my agony and be done with me.  There is nothing here left for me to give you. Go, Zayne!"came the intense tones of her peircing vocals.  She wasn't exactly screaming but was far from whispering.  It reminded Zayne of a feral rabid tigress hissing its defense in a backed up corner somewhere.  It aroused him in more ways than one, however, he held his ground, not daring to take a step towards her.  The warning in her voice had a lethal edge to it.

"Good boy.  Now leave."

He smiled slowly, letting the malicious intent drip from the corners of his upturned mouth. "No one will rescue you.  No one will care. But I am still here for  you...." He was saying.  Carme's lip twitched. "They will be here to collect you tomorrow morning. You are out of time, my dear.  If you supply me with the information I want, then I can intervene in the trial and save you from the death sentence.  I need to know where he is. Just give me a location. A name. Anything."

"The Kazehikari's are dead. There is nothing more to discuss,"she whispered with wide marbled eyes staring out the window of the room in a glossy daze.  She didn't know what to think when it came to the City of Evolution anymore and those who had dwelled in it.  Those who had come into her life by storm, pricked her heart then vanished...They were dead. They had all perished in the wars.  At least, that was what she told herself these days. It was easier to believe him dead than that he was alive and simply refused to come see her.  What was her brother's fixation with them anyway?  He'd been sore about being defeated by them ever since the fight that had almost cost him his legs.

He was eyeing her now. Evaluating her reply for truth or falesy.

*hic*"Then I kicked in the door and said..."

I heard the sound of stone meeting hand...or hand meeting stone, either way this collision was either someone trying to get out or someone throwing a hissy fit because they lost at Call of Duty. I'm thinking it's someone trying to get out, must be this Carme chick, she better be hot or I will be completely disappointed. Now that I think about it...should I really save her? Oh right, the letter and the woman who gave me the letter, yeah! She was hot! This is such a score! Alright this has got to be perfect..

I remember where the sound had come from, I decided to ignore the window and use it to learn the floors, besides that would be too revealing. I didn't climb, I used alchemy to build me a pillar that extends up to the point of interest. Damn I'm so good. Alright! here goes. My right foot goes shooting for the stone wall, it was strong enough to break through the wall of course but I forgot someone could be behind it so I attempted to stop it in the most sloppiest manner...ever. My forehead crashed into the wall but didn't break into it, no...this would be a cool entrance, I refuse to let it be some half assed entrance. When I get up I'll have a plan.

The right hand was prepared, this wouldn't hurt me none at all, but it has to be placed perfectly. Between the cement so it all won't fall and...thrust! Success! This is just like the time I shoved my hand into a dragon's mouth and snatched out it's tongue except...I was pulling out bricks from a wall. I know they saw the closed fist cause I let it linger for the shock effect, then as soon as that second of surprise would weaken, I would pull my right hand back open palmed to bring down the wall and make my entrance.

"Oh it's the Juggernaut bitch!"

Damn, sounded so much cooler in my head. So, this is what I'm greeted to? A man trying to rape a woman...wow this is it huh? This is what fucks up my entrance...and here I thought I had it all down. Sheesh.

"Carme Nesta of Nesta Village and all things Nestle, quick! You're coming with me! And no! That wasn't a coincidence that I put Nestle and Quick in the same sentence!"

Yeah that'll win her over. But what about the guy over there, he looks so....familiar...weird familiar.

"And you! Weird guy! This is all an illusion, you are dreaming and I am a ghost. OooooooOooo!"

There was a soft rumble. Not like the demolishion of a solid stone wall but more like the shifting of the very foundations of the earth's platelets.  And then of course the hand.  Two sets of eyes stare on in shock or at least Carme took Zayne's expression to be one of shock when in actuality it was more fascination.  Zayne couldn't believe the amount of success that was compling in his life within the same week.  And all to his glorified predictions, the wall did crumble as the concrete bricks came tumbling down around the small hole the hand had left as it yanked the centerpeice from its foundations causing the entire surface of said wall to shatter.

"You!""You!" They both chorused in unison.  Carme fought the urge to punch her rescuer in the face simply because of his signature. It was strong. It was cocky. And it was unmistakable, undeniable, pure Kazehikari.  This meant one of two things.  A) The young man who just entered all robo-cop style and claimed this all to be a dream for Zayne was correct and this in fact was a cheap 'B' movie scene in a lousy dream that Carme was having. Or...B)Zayne had planned the whole thing anticipating someone to come rescue Carme and reveal the missing peice to his studies.  The fool showed up.  He didn't seem to recognize either of them  however and Carme had a hard time putting a name to his face as well. She just knew that his signature and aura were enough to put Zayne in attack mode if given the time to formulate a strategy.

CLICK! The sound of the safety being released from a hand gun that Zayne now pointed directly at Carme's forehead behind him, while not moving his eyes off of the intruder who stood before him. "Good Evening.  And who might you be, sense you insist on playing the strapping hero in this story.  Does the hero have a name?" Zayne asked.  Anyone who didn't know him would take for granted the fact that he had eyes in the back of his head...and could see her every action even if his head was turned in the opposite direction to focus on the newly arrived. But she knew better. And they had stolen her green amulet that allowed her the power of teleportation thus rendering her uneffective in her present predicament.

"You used the wishing well again, didn't you?!  You bloody coward!  You predicted this? Saw this in the future?" Her teeth were gritted together in anger it would appear but not directed towards Zayne but the man standing behind him...he was a previous subject of hers in which she'd had to deliver a message to.  What in the hell was he doing here?  Why did he have to look like that?  Strikingly irrisistable to put it mildly. Her pulse quickened.

"Oh yes it is I baby, the unstoppable, amazing, brilliant, strong, and *hic* sexy beast! And I am the guide to the choppa!"

Yes! They both said "YOU" at the same time, epic entrance CHECK, pretty woman? CHECK, evil doer...

CLICK!

CHECK!

"Oh shit...check this out! Evil Weird Guy has a gun. I remember when I was a kid I used to play with those things, don't you judge my parents!!"

He seems like a smartass, he's definitely going to let his guard down to answer the woman's question and that's when I drop my quarter. There's something I've learned from watching Saturday morning cartoons, the evil doers always explain their genius. Lucky for Carme of all things Nestle Quick, I have the upper hand...or should I say the lower hand!

I felt the plates on my hands when I got the idea for action. Funny, whatever it is I was thinking of taking action with becomes focused on. This would be the first time I didn't use Black Flame on impulse. Alchemy circles are within the plates and as soon as I drop the quarter I'll clasp my hands together to activate them and use the concrete ground to make a concrete room made specifically for Evil Weird Guy. It'd be like he's in a hollow support to the building, no way for him to sit down and barely any room for him to turn his body. At this time, I'm underestimating my opponent but I am not thinking clearly as I would...what was in that drink?

Zayne and his obsessions had foolishly been unprepared to take one on.  Of course he'd been searching for this man's bloodline for years now but unfortunately without a sample of something on their make-up or in the chemistry to go off of, Zayne had been unable to actually study their essense.  Like their origins, their strengths, their weaknesses, and the source of their power.  Hmmm...it was the look that had crept across his features.  A look of hesitation.  Finally within his grasp stood the subject matter of years and years of research and yet...

POW!

She wasn't going to lie. It hurt like hell ten times over and shocked her into silence.  No curse words or swears could find their way up her throat.  Only a dazed look followed by a gasp.  She clutched her shoulder where the bullet wound  had penetrated leaving a small hole just missing her shoulder socket where bone meets bone.  It leaked red. "So you do have one obvious weakness,"he laughed manically.  'Carme,' he reasoned mentally with a disgusted sneer.  Luckily for him he'd done what he'd intended to do and wouldn't have to lose his life in a fight to the little prick.  Now was not the time to engage in battle with the young minded.  He'd planted a tracking device successfully and it would remain in Carme's blood long enough for him to lock a location on the two...or at least obtain some valuable information on the story behind the rescue.

Tracker bullets.

They were against Nesta law just as the hand gun and the abusing of the wishing well powers. Any form of foreign technology was outlawed for that matter. Zayne had done it all. He was the obvious villen in the scheme of things but the set up had been flawless and Carme was now permanetly painted as a murderer?Huh "Shit!"she choked before front flipping mid air to land the sole of her feet into Zayne's chest that sent him sprawling  back onto the floor hard;knocking the wind out of him.  He slid half the length of the room, spraying up dust and grime from the fallen stone debris of the wall. He aimed the gun again this time pointed at her rescuer. "Run!"she barked.

It was lame. She knew he could do some damage and probably annhilate Zayne's existance altogether in a matter of minutes but it was the first word to come to mind. Run.  The human instinct to preserve life never sounded sweeter within that word.

"Run...?"

I've already sobered up when Carme was shot, but like most of my unexplainable powers, I could see what moved faster than man. I could have stopped it, I could have dismissed the weapon with just a small burst of energy. For my sluggish decision or should I say decisions, Carme was harmed. In the very moment I had the prevention option, I somehow knew Carme could handle something coming at that speed. If I had concentrated I would've known what this man was wielding and how it would work against my mission. Something inside of me told me not to go. My time table was a split second decision but the voice...it explained to me exactly what I wanted in the future.......action. I hesitated purposely, that very tracker is my key to the bosom of action, just so I could have something to tide me over for a while.

But now she spoke of running...and I don't run.

If I had gone through with the plan of caging this man, then things would've went more into Carme's favor. But this isn't about her, this is about me and action. Right now, I wanna kill that man, but to see what he's capable of is something I feel I need to let happen. I'm in the direction of his weapon, it's a very slow weapon and very weak weapon ineffective weapon compared to the laser cannon in my simulation room.

The woman was going to flee, she couldn't take much more punishment, knowing the human mind she may just hide herself someplace. I'll have to follow her lead, but in order to do that I have to cover her until she's clear, my hands are enough to deflect or detonate the fired objects.

Zayne laughed when flames shot out of the barrel of the gun where a bullet should have been in a high pressured spray of heat and force.  Carme did not think anything of her next movements as she doubled over into a ball hurling herself shoulders first through a crumbling hole in the all that had started developing from the first gunshot fired.  The bullet had went straight through her shoulder and peirced the weakened stone wall behind her.  It caved of course, from the force of her body's sharp boney frame and she tears her way through to the other side of it.

She'd left that handsome face behind inside the cell.  And she was still fuming that the stranger had showed up.  Such a waste of energy and effort.  She wanted to die.  She had failed. She had missed the entire point of her existance which had been to protect Lord Yoku.  What was left now for her?

Pulling herself onto her butt, she simply sits there on the dewy grass outside of the prison and grabs at a crushed joint that she'd still had in her pocket from 4 days prior to her captivity. "Fuck it..."she growled searching for a lighter to ignite the weed.  She couldnt' see what took place inside the prison but it was pretty obvious that someone had died or was close to it as the entire east half of the facility came crashing down in shambles.  The fire had not mixed well with the hold ancient crumbly walls of the cell.

I came out right behind the woman as if nothing even happened. That's the type of shit I'm on! When I came out to catch her pulling something familiar to monks and wizards, I knew that she needed to relax in order to keep from flipping shit. Whatever happened here held some weight...in truth I was expecting her to pull out a can of mace, seeing as her heartrate was skyrocketing and I am somewhat a stranger and all. But...there's something about her that made me feel...adventurous...

"I'm in rotation so make sure you pass it."

I found myself a comfortable place to sit just to keep her in my peripherals. A woman like that could disappear if I'm not careful. Besides gorgeous as she was, I'm possibly the only man who could handle that in the bedroom. But first...

"So....come here often..?"

If she let herself, she could remember those lips, that voice, and those unyeilding eyes. He had a crazy casual sex appeal about him that proved unnerving in this situation because she wasn't expecting it. Her world was shattered and here he was...just sitting there as if lounging on a beach while sipping on a Margarita.

She scoweled, which made her pretty asian features scrunch. "Do you think this is funny? I know this village doesn't meet your standards and our people are seemingly beneathe you're somehow superior way of thinking and our technologies are below the bar compared to whatever it is you work with that allows you to bull doze your hand through a solid stone wall, but this is a VERY serious situation."  She caressed the butt of the joint with her lips and inhaled slowly letting the muscles in her face relax then soften as it was meant to be.

Tilting her head to angle a suspiscious gaze on him she enjoyed the view for a few selfish moments before inhaling again and then finally giving up and passing him the roll. "It's a nullifyer,"she said, indicating the weed she had handed to him. "All natural and doesn't cost a thing...around here anyways.  You can use it to erase your scent or signature.  He didn't kill me back there and everything he does is for a reason so i'm sure he spared my life intentionally. I've probably been bugged and the weed in my system will null the transmition for awhile."

She was about to say,'But he was mainly after you.  It's clear you're the target and I can't lose you again so get the hell out of here.'  But that wouldn't have made sense at all. Especially since she didn't remember.  Especially since she didn't want to remember.

"You know...I gave a damn about your situation..."

I feel like something like this has happened before, I could have just wandered off but no, I waited for her response. I even went as far as taking her invitation to relax after a long days work. She claimed to be in some kind of mood, whatever mood she was in I could cancel it, I don't know why I feel that way but in my heart I know it's true.

I looked into the situation at hand and found myself at no fault, I looked at it from her perspective and knew that it was deeper then what I've just witnessed. Took me a second but I felt empathy for her, I remember the gossips about her. Sad story but I knew nothing of this Lord everyone spoke of. I need not add weight to her thoughts, the volume of her voice could be controlled, I knew a solution but it's too soon for all of that.

I inhaled and thought of something...something probable.

"Can I ask you something...? Have we met before? I've felt like I've already explored your world. And I'm thinking we're back in the same spot because we're bound to each other...or...maybe this stuff is working it's magic. Don't mind that...hahaha."

I handed it back to her, I was finished with it.

"So what do you want to do now...smart one?"

Carme swears softly before her rescuer's face blurs. She'd forgotten about the blood. The pain. The hole in her shoulder.  If she hadn't already let her health fall through the floor, perhaps she could have played it off long enough to convince him she was okay. Swaying, she inhales some oxygen sharply.

What had he said?  Note to self: Never smoke a blunt when suffering from blood loss and malnutrition.

"Can you..."She took his hand lightly, the seconds seeming like hours, during this small physical transaction. His palm was pressed against the bullet wound as she attempted to slow the leak. Her blood was bright, warm and thick beneath is fingers."...stop the bleeding for me? I'm just going to go to sleep for a little while...hiiide meh in thhhe woods."

Then all was dark.  She welcomed the loss of consciousness.

When I asked my question, I found myself at fault, I shouldn't have said anything. I should have just left, I can't even remember why I'm here or what purpose I have beside this woman. Why do I care for her? I look at her and all I see is complication. Even as she faints all I feel is void, nothingness. She's a weakling, can't even take a hole through the arm, why am I wasting my time with a species of hers? Whatever it is...it isn't healthy.

I take my time with her, I was supposed to hide her in the woods but my true feelings were to ditch her. I have no connection to this woman and from what the town has said about her, she is a murderer. I know...I know for a fact I did this out of good intentions but something deep down tells me I wanted these Nesta Village people angry. Why? Why did I not refuse this odd offer...?

Questioning myself isn't getting me anywhere, I'm not even thinking diversely. Guess I'm just not that interested in placing logic in this situation. I could heal her wounds but since she wants to doze off on me, I guess I have to deal with this human's nonsense. What a mess...this whole thing. I'm still wondering why the man who shot her didn't come down to confirm the kill, had he known of my advantages? He seemed to have said an awful lot. Just wished I could've trapped him so I could interrogate him on the matter.

The Nifarious had taken his time placing the woman in the woods, he didn't know what else would be suited to heal this woman's wounds. He was no expert in hiding his own unique powers, but if this woman would wake up without a hole in her arm then it could set off some events. While he examined the wound, something in him snapped, he didn't want to be apart of this any longer. He felt he had no place breaking this woman's heart or killing her. Reminded him of his wife's death....murdering his very own thoughts on this mission.

Suddenly he felt homesick...

It was about time he set fire to the wood he'd gathered, finished wrapping what cloth he salvaged to press the herbs against the wound, and completely vanish. It angered him somewhat to watch her just sleep through the hour as helpless as she was. This Nifarious expected someone with the same talents as him, which is why he took up the mission thinking she was just fronting on her powers. But in action she was merely a human being and that fact frustrated him. In truth he wanted his wife back....more then wanting to remember who this woman is.

The wound was sealed, it was high time he left this place to focus on himself. An airship is the last thing he thought he'd see in the sky but there it was just flying towards him. Not an eye was batted at the woman, he takes off into the sky. He doubts he'll ever cross eyes with this woman again.
